_________________________________________________________________________________Professional Disposition
As an educator, I believe that every student should succeed at what they are doing not only in school but at home as well. As an educator, I believe every child should have the chance to learn and to have the support that is needed to help them learn. Through the combination of both home and school, I will nurture, guide, and mentor student to become lifelong learners who will make contributions to our society. As an educator, I strive to be kind, patient, honest, and respectful to my students, peers, administrators and anyone else that I will come into contact with.
As I look back over my self-assessment and look at my professional disposition statement I can see that the assessment supports my disposition statement. I do believe that teachers should help their students learn and use any support or tools necessary to help those students learn and be able to succeed. Being honest, patient, kind, and respectful to others is something that is something that I feel strongly about that should always be done not just in a professional environment. When thinking back to when I began my program of study there were things that need to worked on. One thing specifically that I have been working on is having patience with others, I was so impatient with things and that is something I have been really working and striving toward and I feel I have gotten much better at. Another thing that I am still working on is to not take feedback personally and to see it as a growth opportunity. I know that it is important to be willing to receive feedback, which I am not hesitant to, its learning not to take it personally is something that I am working very hard on.

Personal Teaching Philosophy
Goal #1: Focus
on students learning
|
Goal #2:
Classroom management.
|
Goal #3: To
constantly improve and be a better teacher.
|
|
Rationale: Why did you
choose this goal? How do you expect it to improve the outcomes of your future
students?
|
I
chose this goal to help me focus on the students and what they are learning from the lesson, not just the lesson itself. When focusing on the students
learning students will be able to learn and understand what is being taught
and also enjoy what is being taught.
|
I
chose this goal to help me find a classroom management style that helps fit the needs of the classroom as well as the students. Finding a classroom
management style will help the classroom flow and help students begin to get
off task.
|
I
chose this goal so that I can continue to learn and be a better teacher than
I was the day before. If I am a better teacher than the day before then
I am improving my students learning by finding ways to teach them the way that they need to be taught.
|
End Date: By when do you
expect to accomplish this goal?
|
I
hope to complete this goal by the school year of 2019
|
I
would like to complete this goal by Fall 2019
|
This
doesn’t have an end date because I want to always be learning how to be a
better teacher than the day before,
|
Action Timeline:
What steps
will you take to complete this goal, and by when will you take them?
Example:
1/31/18: Join AACTE
|
The
first step I will take to complete this goal is to take thought into my
lessons when they are being created by asking myself what do I want the
students to learn at the end of this lesson. The second step would be to get
the students engaged in the lesson by asking questions. The last step is to
give a quick assessment to see what the students have learned during the
lesson and taking their answers and reflecting if they learned what was
intended to be taught.
|
The
first step is to research classroom management styles online using research
based sources, as well as collaborate
with other teachers and their classroom management. The next step is to sit
down and take what I have learned from talking to other teachers and research
and create a classroom management plan.
|
The first step to this is to learn how to change things habits and be able to
adjust to new things quickly. Another step is to reflect and take notes on how the lessons went for that day and how they could have been improved or what went well during the lesson. Another step is to take any trainings
possible to help teaching.
|
Resources: What resources
are available to assist you in accomplishing your goal?
|
One
resource would be to practice the lesson at home or in the class after school
or before school.
|
The
resources I would use would be other teachers, the internet.
|
Some
resources would be any trainings available through the school district or
state. A note book and pen to be able to reflect on the lessons given and
what went well and what didn’t go well.
